Freight platoons could increase motorway capacity 'up to 20%'


‘Platoons’ – road trains of up to nine ‘electronically tethered’ vehicles, led by a lorry - could increase motorway capacity by between 15% and 20%, according to transport consultancy Transport Research Laboratory (TRL).
