AECOM appoints new chief executive in civil infrastructure

 

AECOM has appointed Colin Wood MBE as chief executive of its civil infrastructure business across Europe, Middle East, India and Africa (EMIA).

The appointment comes after Richard Robinson moved on to become HS2 Ltd's chief operating office.

Before joining AECOM as UK and Ireland managing director for transportation a year ago, Mr Wood has worked at Transport for London, as head of Olympic and Paralympic Readiness/Director of Olympic Legacy.

Mr Wood also held senior positions at London Heathrow and Capita, and is a former RAF Wing Commander.

Lara Poloni, chief executive, EMIA, said: 'Mr Wood appointment is an important step forward for our civil Infrastructure business, the leadership and experience he brings are second to none. In his time at AECOM he has already shown himself to be a great role model with a deep understanding of the business.

His leadership will also be vitally important for positioning AECOM for exciting opportunities in the Middle East and across the rest of the region.'

The EMIA business operates in 50 countries, has more than 8,500 staff and covers transportation, water, ports and power sectors.
