HS2 brings in new heavyweights to top team

HS2 Ltd - the public body in charge of building the high speed rail link - has made new additions to its senior staff, with a new chief operating officer and chief financial officer.

Richard Robinson has been appointed the new chief operating officer and will be tasked with directly supporting chief executive, Mark Thurston, in delivering what is Europe’s largest infrastructure project.

Mr Robinson joins from AECOM where he led its civil infrastructure business across Europe, Middle East, India and Africa, first as managing director and then chief executive, responsible for 8,000 people and a range of infrastructure projects.

Michael Bradley, CB, is also joining the company as chief financial officer. Mr Bradley comes from Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S), an arms-length body of the Ministry of Defence, where he is CFO and director general resources, and has been acting CEO since December 2017.

At HS2 Ltd, Mr Bradley will be leading the finance team, corporate sponsorship, and the programme management office.
