Speaking to Transport Network in the run-up to Road Expo Scotland 2016, Scott Allan, chairman of the Society of Chief Officers of Transportation in Scotland (SCOTS), paints a picture of a sector on the brink of change with reasons for optimism, but also challenges ahead.

Over the past few years demand management has not been foremost in the minds of Scotland’s road professionals Mr Allan says, yet he predicts it will become a ‘big issue over the next five years’, as the devolved nation has started to see economic growth trigger traffic growth.
