UK's worst road is a turn-off for motorists using the A12

The A12 from London to Great Yarmouth is the worst road in Britain, according to a survey of 4,000 drivers.
The stretch between Colchester and the A120 turn-off to Braintree was singled out due to constant problems with potholes and regular closures caused by road works.
The M8 between Glasgow and Edinburgh was named the second worst road, with drivers complaining of its constant state of disrepair due to its poor construction.
In third place was the A30 near Bodmin, in Cornwall, followed by the A361 near Glastonbury and the M6 along the Birmingham stretch. The A525 in the Wrexham area was named the worst stretch of road in Wales.
The survey revealed one in five respondents had reported a poor road surface to their local authority, while 14% had been involved in an accident because they had to swerve to miss a pothole.
