State-owned East Coast operator returned £225m to Treasury last year

 

Unions have said the re-privatisation of the East Coast Mainline ‘defies all economic logic’ after the state-owned company operating the line revealed it returned £225m to the Treasury in 2013-14, the last financial year before the line is franchised.
