The head of the Institute of Highway Engineers (IHE) has sent out a strong message to industry on the benefits of high friction surfacing (HFS).

Following new research that revealed the material is more durable than previously believed, IHE chief executive Richard Hayes said it has 'significant value' in reducing accidents.
