Galileo data released

Technical specifications for signals from the European Union's Galileo global positioning service have been released by the Galileo joint undertaking, the organisation tasked with running the satellite system.
The data will allow manufacturers of transport navigation equipment to start devising and making their devices in earnest. The European Commission said that their publication followed ‘several years of signal design trade-offs (and) international negotiations’.
Galileo will provide accurate location information and be fully compatible with existing GPS signals.
