Amey appoints new highways director

 

Amey has announced it has appointed former Highways England regional director, Tim Harbot, as director of technical excellence on its highways executive team.

Mr Harbot has 26 years’ experience working for government highways organisations. He worked for Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council on the design of Black Country Spine Road before joining the Department of Transport and then the Highways Agency, where he became director (Midlands) in Network Operations, managing the strategic road network in West and East Midlands.

In 2015, he was responsible for the overall leadership of the project delivering Highways England's new approach to maintenance called ‘asset-led delivery’.

James Haluch, Amey’s managing director of highways, said: 'Tim has a wealth of experience working at Highways England and has a superb understanding of the networks and their demands.

'He is offering us valuable insights into the needs of our clients and will be helping refine our customer service offering in the coming months, as well as reviewing our processes and innovation programme.'

Commenting on his new role, Mr Harbot added: 'I’m very excited to be joining Amey and seeing how the industry works from a different perspective. Amey is a fine company with a long heritage. It has great people working hard to deliver excellent service for clients. I'm looking forward to being part of the team developing the business further in 2017.'
