£13bn construction procurement frameworks launched

Two public sector frameworks totalling £13bn have been launched aimed at providing direct support to local economies and the green recovery.

Public sector specialist Scape Group announced an £11bn construction framework for England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and a separate £2bn framework covering Scotland.

Each covers an extensive range of construction works, including for pipelines, communication and power lines, for highways, roads, airfields and railways.

The frameworks will both operate for a four-year period with an option to extend for a further two years.

The £11bn framework will consist of seven lots broken down by geography and value, with two specifically for Northern Ireland.

The frameworks will also incorporate New Engineering Contracts (NEC) to enable collaboration and flexibility across the supply chain on longer-term, higher-value projects or for specifying performance objectives.

Scape’s existing national construction and minor works frameworks have seen more than 800 projects delivered by Willmott Dixon, Robertson, Wates, Lendlease and Kier.
