Scottish Executive to keep close eye on major scheme progress

 
Scottish transport minister Tavish Scott has pledged to regularly review the progress of major transport projects 'to make sure we remain on time and on budget'.
He said that the Scottish Executive's ambitious programme - which includes rail re-openings and the Edinburgh tram scheme - was 'the envy of Britain'. These schemes, and others currently in development, were due for completion by 2011.
