Wrexham bans street works

Wrexham County Borough Council is to ban all street works in its town centre from 30 October – when the new Eagles Meadow shopping centre opens – until the new year.

It hopes this move will avoid congestion suffered in other places when new facilities have opened.

It has issued a prohibition notice covering both its own works and statutory undertakers’, although emergency repairs will be allowed. It is also implementing a traffic-management system including Saturday park-and-ride services.
