Wider berth for Wetherby

A £69.79M scheme to widen the A1 around Wetherby to three-lanes has been given the go ahead.
The project will see construction of a new bridge over the River Wharfe, and replacement of the existing bridges at Wetherby Grange and Walton Road.
The scheme is due to start in spring 2007, and construction will take around 28 months.
