Welsh progress on air pollution

 
Air pollution is Wales is showing signs of decline, new evidence has suggested.


New figures released by the Welsh Assembly show that air quality in the county improved between 1990 and 2007.


Environment minister, Jane Davidson, announced the findings of the air pollutant inventory, which highlighted the year-on-year improvements since the start of the 1990s.


‘The report illustrates the significant technological progress and development of effective environmental management and regulation processes for those sectors responsible for such emissions,’ Ms Davidson said. The report also showed that emissions in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland have also shown signs of improvement.
