Welsh jobs ‘under threat’

Union leaders have lobbied the Welsh Assembly  over jobs costs, which could see a number of transport workers axed.
The Public and Commercial Services Union claimed this week that, based on an analysis of official figures and freedom of information requests, the union had discovered that more than 5,000 posts, across a number of departments, will go over the next four years. A spokeswoman for the assembly refused to respond directly to the claims about jobs losses, since it was a decision that would be taken ultimately by Westminster.
She did point out there had been an ongoing campaign to bring civil service jobs to Wales, including some 200 transport jobs.
