The Welsh Assembly has released details of its new waste strategy.
The assembly’s proposals set out how the country proposes to tackle the issue over the course of the next 40 years, and includes a 90% rate for recycling, recovery and reuse of non-hazardous waste from construction.
From 2025, at least 70% of waste from Welsh households will also have to be recycled under the plans.
Environment minister, Jane Davidson, said: ‘There are tremendous opportunities to save money and create high-quality industry in Wales by using the valuable material resources contained in waste.’
