Stagecoach is piloting a scheme in South Yorkshire which offers people that have just moved house free travel on its buses for the first week they are in their new home.

The new movers, identified by telemarketing, will be provided with a package that contains a map of the local bus network and timetables, as well as tokens for seven days of free travel.

A Stagecoach spokeswoman said: ‘We are at the early stages of this trial but have had a positive response so far, and will continue to monitor results with a view to rolling out the campaign to other parts of the UK, further down the line.’
