Waste: Heaps more into recycling

 
Support for recycling is on the increase in Exeter, despite the fact that the city council lost a high-profile court case against a woman accused of putting non-recyclable rubbish in recycling bins.
Last month, Donna Challice, 30, of Exeter, was cleared of six charges for placing residual waste into her green bin (Surveyor, 13 July, 2006) but this week the council said recycling between April and June rose to 31% compared with 25.5% for the same period last year.
