Waste: £850M deal for Nottingham

An £850M waste management private-finance initiative deal has been signed by Nottinghamshire County Council and Veolia Environmental Services. Environment minister, Ben Bradshaw, hoped the sealing of the deal ‘should give confidence to the waste PFI sector’. The contract is the first waste PFI to be signed for two-and-a-half years. It aims to increase recycling and composting to 52% by 2020.
