Walking off with the cash

The Department for Transport has announced a £15M boost for walking to school initiatives.
The new investment is mainly aimed at setting up walking buses, and the Government hopes it could lead to the creation of thousands of new examples across the country. The cash will be given to primary schools to pay staff to act as walking bus co-ordinators and assess potential routes.
