Veolia wins Shropshire bid

 
Shropshire Waste Partnership has chosen Veolia Environmental Services as the preferred bidder for its 27-year integrated waste management contract.

The bid involves capital investment in waste infrastructure of £100M over the duration of the contract and is designed to maximise recycling, with a target of 50% by 2012.

The percentage of municipal waste sent to landfill is set to be reduced from 65% in 2005/06 to 5% in 2015.
