Upton tumbles to the natural look and gains ministerial approval

Almost 3,000m2 of natural stone paving and other improvements have been carried out on the A4500, as part of a major urban expansion in Northampton.

The stone, including a combination of tumbled sandstone and york stone, has been used to create attractive crossing points, footways and shop fronts in the development in Upton, and was installed by contractor Charcon.

~Northamptonshire~ County Council has also landscaped the central reservation, improved bus stops, planted new trees, and installed new streetlighting along the busy dual carriageway serving the development, which also links Northampton to Coventry and Birmingham. Deputy prime minister, ~John Prescott~ said the development was ‘a huge step forward.’
