Cambridge-based Tyco Fire & Integrated Solutions has won a commendation in the 2006 Intertraffic Innovation Awards. The jury praised its DAB radio break-in service for interrupting regular broadcasts to alert drivers to tunnel emergencies.
Tyco is currently installing a £1M-plus system for Transport for London in the Rotherhithe Tunnel, the first such UK contract, has virtually completed a second, for the northbound Blackwall Tunnel, and has bid for a third.
