True recognition up for grabs at this year’s Highways Awards

The Highways Awards offers the industry an opportunity to get its schemes, teams and products recognised and rewarded, as previous winners have testified.

The fourteenth Highways Awards (formerly Highways Magazine Excellence Awards) are a celebration of an excellent job well done and take place at a gala dinner on Wednesday 18 October at the Lancaster London.

Some of last year’s winners summed up their reactions on hearing the news of their victory at the gala dinner. One said: ‘[The Awards] are one of the top awards to win and we are so proud to have been here today.'

Another said: ‘We are delighted to win this award … to get some true recognition of the excellent partnership work that we’ve done over the last five or six years has been absolutely brilliant.'

Describing the feeling of winning an award as ‘absolutely fantastic’, another of last year’s winners said: ‘The quality of the entries on health and safety and wellbeing across the Highways industry was so high.’

Adrian Tatum, events producer for the Hemming Group Ltd, said: ‘Last year’s new category – Apprentice of the Year sponsored by the Institute of Highway Engineers’ National Highway Engineering Academy (NHEA) – proved extremely popular and will also be up for grabs again at this year’s event.’

He added: ’The Highways Awards continue to grow in stature and this year’s event promises to be our best yet.’
