Most people in Edinburgh support the introduction of trams on to the capital’s streets, according to a poll in the Edinburgh Evening News.
The survey – which had 4,531 responses – suggested that 47.9% of people supported the £715M scheme, while 37.1% opposed it, and 14.8% were unsure.
Willie Gallagher, chair of Transport Initiatives Edinburgh, the city’s arms-length company, claimed the ‘silent majority’ had spoken.
