The Department for Transport, Highways England, the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation (CIHT), the Institute of Highways Engineers (IHE), ITS (UK) and council directors' body ADEPT will all be supporting this mainstay of the traffic and transport sector.

Highways England chief executive Jim O'Sullivan, Steve Berry, head of highways maintenance, and Cathy Miller, deputy director for cities, policy and delivery, from the DfT will all be speaking, as will the ITS (UK) president Steven Norris.

The conference also features the new Highways and Transportation Theatre, with its emphasis on operation and implementation, with talks from senior managers and leaders of different industry groups.

A series of invitation-only Director Briefings has been introduced this year, where directors, senior executives, heads of highways and transport and other key stakeholders will debate the future challenges to the traffic and transport sectors.
