Town lines up ‘buggy lane’

A town centre is to be transformed and will feature a special ‘buggy’ lane. The lane is for people with mobility aids or with children in push chairs, and is part of the £1.6M Uttoxeter town centre, in Staffordshire, makeover.
Work on the transformation scheme began last month and is due to be completed in October. Staffordshire Highways designed the buggy lane as a late addition to the scheme, after residents expressed concern that the revamp would make it difficult for shoppers with disabilities and people using buggies to get around.
