Tories’ Crossrail confusion

 
The Conservatives are ‘very enthusiastic’ about Crossrail, but are yet to commit to the project, according to Boris Johnson.

The London mayor, who has placed Crossrail at the heart of his transport strategy, said this week: ‘I think any government would be barmy not to go ahead with it.’

But when asked by the London Assembly transport committee if Conservative leader, David Cameron, had guaranteed his backing for the project, Mr Johnson refused to answer.
