Top HS2 joint venture makes Phase One appointment

Fusion - a joint venture created by Morgan Sindall, BAM and Ferrovial - has appointed global infrastructure company AECOM as lead designers for its HS2 Phase One activity.

AECOM has international experience of high speed rail including extensive involvement in Spain’s network, Crossrail and schemes in more than 20 countries.

Dr. Mark Raiss, engineering director for civil infrastructure, Europe, Middle East, India and Africa, at AECOM, said: 'This is an opportunity for AECOM to bring its global high speed rail capability to a landmark UK project of national importance, working with Fusion to support HS2’s vision of making the project a catalyst for growth across Britain. Our work with Fusion builds on the long-standing collaborative relationships that we have with all three JV partners.'

The Fusion joint venture was formed primarily to bid for contracts on the HS2 rail scheme including enabling works, surface route, viaducts, and tunnels.

HS2 Phase One runs from London to Birmingham.
