Top 10 London offenders named and shamed

Westminster City Council has named and shamed a top 10 of the worst parking offenders in central London.
The vehicles owe a total of £110,000 from 1,110 unpaid parking tickets, and many of the cars are falsely registered and impossible to track down.
But the council faces a much larger problem with a number of persistent evaders having more than 16,000 penalty charge notices worth about £1,633,300 to the council. By releasing details of the vehicles, the authority hopes to encourage drivers to pay up, or at least discourage others from flouting the law.
Westminster’s parking team has taken off the road the top offender, who had 213 parking tickets. In November and December alone, this vehicle racked up more than 90 tickets – the equivalent of one-and-a-half fines every day.
Of those the council is still tracking down, the most wanted is a black Volkswagen Polo registration W152 NAX, which owes more than £15,000 from around 150 tickets.
