Timely reminder for city’s disabled visitors

More than 15,000 raised stainless steel studs are being installed in Coventry to warn disabled people about the raised features of the city’s ‘time zone clock’. ~Coventry City Council~ is introducing the tactile studs in a 400mm-wide band around the installation in Millennium Place, which had caused concern among the city’s access advisory group. Coventry officers were pleased a solution had been found which would not detract from the square – part of the city’s regeneration – and the time zone map made of aluminum castings. ~Mark Dale~ the city council’s access officer and chair of the group, said the £40,000 move showed that ‘good consultation produces the right results’.
