Thames Water says job cuts will help tackle leaks

 
Thames Water is discussing company-wide redundancies with the Department for Trade and Industry, it has confirmed.
Chief executive Jeremy Pelczer said that a company-wide review could lead to 'a head count reduction of 25% by 2010', or around 300 people per year. An efficiency review would ensure that 'we have the right resources in place to improve frontline operational efficiency, particularly on leakage reduction'.
