Temporary moves slammed

The GMB has called on authorities to curb their annual £1.5bn spend on agency and temporary staff.
London boroughs spent a collective £471.3M on temporary staff in 2005/06, more than any other region, while Lincolnshire topped the council league at £54.5M.
A union spokesmen said: ‘Council spending on temporary and agency staff generally represents very bad value for money for the public.’
