Taxi’s rank high in Sheffield

Cabinet members on Sheffield City Council are planning to increase the number of taxi ranks in the city.
There will also be a number of small-scale improvements to the seven existing public ranks at Boston Street, Ecclesall Road, Glossop Road, Leadmill Road, Queens Road, Walker Street and Weston Ban, in addition to the proposals for 17 new ranks.
Terry Fox, cabinet member for transport, said: ‘The implementation of any of these schemes will be subject to full consultation with the taxi trade, stakeholders and local residents.’
