Tax-free offer for recyclers

Swansea Council is offering residents the chance to win a council tax-free year under a new initiative to encourage recycling.

Residents are being invited to attach special address tags to their green recycling bags in order to be entered into a prize draw, offering one household the chance of a year without council tax payments.

The council hopes the scheme will increase the number of residents using the recycling service to reduce the amount of domestic waste currently going to landfill. Corus is one of the main sponsors of the initiative.
