On the 1 April the West Yorkshire Combined Authority launched with Cllr Peter Box, leader of Wakefield MBC, as its chair. He will now be overseeing more than £2bn worth of responsibility when you factor in Wakefield’s £500m budget and the combined authority’s planned £1.6bn West Yorkshire and York infrastructure fund.
