Streetcar is their desire

The new streetcar vehicle gained a further boost last week as ~City and County of Swansea Council~ announced it could become the first place in Wales to use the new, larger vehicles. The new streetcar system, set to hit the streets of York in May, has been designed to combine the strengths of a tram with the qualities of a bus. It can carry up to 100 passengers at a time, and it will be easy to access for the old and disabled. Each streetcar vehicle costs around £300,000. Welsh Assembly funding of £2.2M has been agreed to get the project off the ground.
