Wales will have a new inspections regime for utility works from this autumn.
A code of practice, similar to the code for England launched in 2002, comes into force on 2 October, at the same times as new regulations on fees for inspections.
The simplified code establishes an inspection regime for signing and guarding, and reduces the number of chargeable routine inspections from five to three. Russell.dewey@wales.gsi.gov.uk
