Street scene: Fines for litter louts raised

 
Gloucester City Council has declared war on what it describes as ‘environmental criminals’.
On-the-spot fines for littering, issued as part of the council’s zero- tolerance crackdown have been increased from £50 to £75.
The charges are in line with legislation and guidance from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
A spokeswoman said: ‘No matter how big, or how small, litter is still litter.’.
