Speeding on with controls

 
Oxfordshire County Council has given the go ahead to introduce 20mph speed limits on residential roads across Oxford.


Around two-thirds of respondents to a consultation backed proposals to reduce speed limits, which will also apply to A and B-roads where there are busy shopping areas.


Councillor Ian Hudspeth, Oxfordshire County Council’s cabinet member for transport, said: ‘The fact that the Government wants similar schemes introduced elsewhere puts Oxfordshire in the vanguard.’
