Solution lies under ground

Twelve kilometres of tunnel are set to be built to replace existing overhead power lines, in order to free up 40ha of land in Lower Lea Valley, north London.
The project would involve tunnelling below and close to several highway alignments and major river crossings, and the Channel Tunnel rail link. Faber Maunsell is to provide design advice to J Murphy and Sons for the London Development Agency project.
