Single occupany car use to be tackled in Wales

 
Reducing single occupancy car use, achieving better efficiency out of the existing network, and minimising the need to travel are the central aims of Wales' new national transport strategy.
The draft strategy sees a key role for traffic management, including high occupancy vehicle lanes; making cycling and walking more attractive, by considering cyclists and pedestrians in highway maintenance and speed management decisions; and tackling rising travel growth through land use planning and possible local road pricing schemes.
