Signs axed in county cull

Somerset CC has removed 550 road signs in the last four months, in a bid to cull the number of redundant signs in the county.

Those which have been scrapped include temporary roadwork signs and speed camera warning signs.

Cllr Anthony Trollope-Bellew, Somerset’s cabinet member for environment, said: ‘We will carry on giving careful consideration to the need for new signs, and will make sure that out-of-date ones are removed.’
