Signed up to save the earth

East Midlands local authorities have become the first in England to unanimously sign a voluntary pledge to tackle climate change – 12 months ahead of schedule.
The region’s councils recently signed the Nottingham Declaration, and have plans in place to work together to fight global warming and secure a more sustainable future.
Climate change and environment minister, Ian Pearson, welcomed the move, and said he was ‘delighted’ to hear the region was rolling out the declaration to other areas in the public and private sectors.
