Sharing service to save

Two Northumberland councils have agreed to merge their streetscene services in order to drive efficiencies on regeneration projects.
The proposal met with an enthusiastic response from Blyth Valley and Wansbeck councils, as well as unions, according to Garry Owens, a member of the project team at Blyth. A report by KPMG confirmed the service could deliver savings of up to £500,000 a year.
