Shared space devotee appointed to TfL board

Several new members have joined Transport for London’s board, including Daniel Moylan, deputy leader of the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea – a champion of ‘shared space’.

Cllr Moylan, who is also chair of London Councils’ transport and environment committee, has been appointed to strengthen links with London boroughs. Other new members include Paralympic champion, Dame Tanni Grey-Thompson, who brings first-hand experience of using public transport with mobility problems.

London mayor, Boris Johnson, said: ‘Every board member is full of enthusiasm and that will propel the improvements we intend to make to the capital’s public transport system.’

First deputy mayor, Tim Parker, resigned this week after he decided it ‘would not be appropriate’ to take over as chair of TfL.
