Senior DCLG mandarin rejects calls for 'core devolution package'

 

The Whitehall director general for decentralisation and growth has rejected the idea of a 'core devolution package' for councils to avoid extensive waste and repetition in ongoing negotiations.

The Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) director, Simon Ridley, was challenged by a senior council figure at the ADEPT annual conference in Manchester.
