Scots show passive resistance in fight to save lives

The first in a series of seminars has taken place in Scotland to promote the use of safer road sign supports and barriers. Transport Scotland hosted the Passive revolution event in Edinburgh this week to highlight the equipment now available to reduce run-off accidents. Speakers shared their experiences of using passive safety signs and columns to reduce casualties, and products deemed to comply with the standards were showcased. A second seminar will take place at the Institution of Civil Engineers in London on 22 June, when Mott MacDonald will unveil the winner of its competition to find a more user-friendly term than ‘passively safe’ for the devices. www.thepassiverevolution.co.uk
