Scots highlight planning role

 
The Scottish transport minister, Stewart Stevenson, has underlined the importance of the nation’s planning sytem to economic recovery.

Mr Stevenson told a Royal Town Planning Institute conference in Edinburgh it was essential that all government activity – including planning – supported the country’s economic development.

‘That’s why we have acted to ensure Scotland’s planning system is increasingly joined up, providing greater certainty and speed of decision making for developers and communities,’ he said.
