School bin plan caned

 
A scheme to provide gritting and salt bins to 44 rural schools in Northern Ireland has come under fire. MLA Tommy Gallagher expressed his concern over the project and has urged that other rural schools are not overlooked.

‘While I welcome the winter-gritting schedule will help these 44 schools in difficulty last year, I would like to see greater flexibility allowed to overcome the unpredictability of the weather’, he said.

The new Department for Regional Development procedures will provide salt bins and immediate gritting services on request.
